Napping Transition: Two Naps to One Nap

It is pretty common for that transition from the two big naps a day to a one big midday nap to occur somewhere between fifteen and eighteen months.  It's tricky if you have a child that goes to daycare and they may have a set time and that may not be exactly when your child is ready for it, but that kind of mid toddler age is an average for when kids are ready.  Now if you're child wasn't quite ready and that change did occur you may find that they need to go to bed earlier at night to make up for it or sleep in a little bit longer in the morning to make up for it.  Usually the two naps a day when they're still on that routine from kind of mid to late infancy to early toddlerhood, those naps may vary anywhere from like forty minutes to two hours each and in preparation for making that transition, some people may sort of start shaving time off of that afternoon nap by waking the child up a little bit earlier, buy usually what happens is just also at the same time are starting to keep them up longer during the morning before putting them down and all of a sudden instead of doing likely be at 9:30 and at 2:30 nap you're now doing like an 11:45 nap.  This usually also results in an earlier lunch time then you might have had before.
