Use the rating scale and list of symptoms below to check​ and score your symptoms. If your total score is higher than 30, we recommend seeing a medical provider to evaluate your sino-nasal symptoms.

 1  - Very mild problem

 2  - Mild or slight problem

 3  - Moderate problem

  - Severe problem

 5  - Problem as bad as it can be

Common Sinus Symptoms Affecting Daily Life

  • Runny nose, need to blow nose
  • Nasal blockage
  • Sneezing
  • Cough
  • Post-nasal discharge
  • Thick nasal discharge
  • Dizziness
  • Ear pain, ear fullness, or ear pressure
  • Facial pain or pressure
  • Decreased sense of smell or taste

Some people suffering from chronic sinus conditions also report social/emotional symptoms, such as:

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Wake up at night

When to See an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor

If your score is higher than 10, you may consider scheduling an appointment with an ENT physician to evaluate your sinus pain and symptoms and determine if medical interventions are appropriate.

If your score is higher than 30, it is recommended that you see a medical provider to help with your sino-nasal condition.
