The National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) has fully accredited the Boys Town Epilepsy Program as a level 4 epilepsy center for the next three years, 2025-2027. The NAEC launched 3-year accreditation in December 2024, moving from a 1-year accreditation model.

Originally certified in 2023, the Boys Town Epilepsy Program was the first level 4 accredited pediatric program in Nebraska and is now one of a handful of centers across the country. Accredited institutions must offer complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostic monitoring and extensive medical, psychosocial and neuropsychological treatment.

“This accreditation reaffirms the quality and comprehensive care model that we provide our pediatric epilepsy patients,” said Deepak Madhavan, M.D., Chief Medical Officer and VP of Medical Affairs at Boys Town National Research Hospital. “It’s a reflection of our team, research and advancing technology that we can ensure a better quality of life for kids with epilepsy for years to come.”
