Dr. Carotta to Retire after 23 Years of Service

​​Cathy Carotta, speech-language pathologist and educator for 47 years, has dedicated 23 years of service to Boys Town National Research Hospital. During her time at Boys Town, Cathy has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Early Childhood Education Supervisor, and Associate Director/Director of Clinical, Educational, and Outreach Programs for the Center for Childhood Deafness, Language, and Learning (CCDLL).​

Cathy partnered with the CCDLL staff to establish best programming and assessment practices for children who are deaf and hard of hearing and those with communication disorders.  She introduced arts-based educational experiences and guided staff in implementing Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood practices. Throughout all of her endeavors, she incorporated leadership and human development learning opportunities into the daily work of those with whom she served.

She is appreciative of the many Boys Town individuals who supported the work of the Center, including those who cleaned the building, those who marketed their services, and those who provided the technology to deliver services nationally to much needed populations. Most of all, she is indebted to and inspired by all those who have shared their vocational life stories and journeys in service of others.

We thank Cathy for her caring leadership, hard work, and dedication to the Boys Town mission. We wish her well as she embarks on this new chapter!
