The Learning Academy
The Learning Academy helps children achieve academic success. Our mission is to empower students to reach their potential as quickly and efficiently as possible. We are passionate about making learning a positive and rewarding experience. Through the use of individualized, innovative and research-supported interventions, we can unlock your child’s potential and help him or her find success in the classroom.
What We Do
The Learning Academy provides help with basic learning skills. Students will receive research-based interventions from trained interventionists. All interventionists are supervised by a licensed school psychologist with a doctorate in School Psychology. Each student attending Learning Academy will have an individualized plan that is frequently evaluated and adjusted to the specific needs of the student.
Learning Academy helps students who struggle with:
Reading Problems: Knowing letter sounds, recognizing letters, reading with few errors and understanding what they read
Math Problems: Identifying numbers, counting and understanding math facts
Spelling Problems: Spelling common words and memorizing word lists for tests
Writing Problems: Getting ideas on paper and using proper capitalizations, punctuation and grammar
Services include the following:
- Help for children who haven’t developed foundational learning and academic skills
- Three one-hour individual sessions per week*
- Frequent parent meetings to share progress
- Training of parents, tutors and teachers to carry out treatment and maintain progress over time
*Session frequency is determined on an individual basis, more frequent sessions result in quicker and more sustained results.
