Our Approach to Care

Our goal is to optimize movement capability for our patients. For Boys Town Physical Therapy, achieving optimization begins with an environment designed to minimize that medical clinic feeling and maximize the experience of attending a state-of-the-art sports training facility.

We support mobility for individuals with neurological or developmental impairments by promoting movement exploration with the latest equipment and techniques. The intent of this design is not only to facilitate curiosity and movement but to support skill development that can be translated to meaningful participation in community activities outside of the clinic.

Why Boys Town Physical Therapy?

The space at the Center for Human Performance Optimization inspires patients to be bold and push their boundaries. This facility encourages and enhances mobility with 2,300 square feet of barrier-free dynamic support systems, fall prevention methods and creative movement exploration.  Our tailored therapeutic interventions stem from collaboration with the Institute for Human Neuroscience next door.

Available therapeutic training equipment includes:
•  ZeroG Gait and Balance System – This 60-foot track with an overhead robotic dynamic body weight support system spans the center's length and offers a safe fall experience.
•  Open Area Support System – With 360° of free exploration, this 200-square-foot system includes activities of daily living and obstacle navigation exercises.
Split-Belt Treadmill – A one-of-a-kind system that lets the split belt be individually calibrated to support stability and improve gait.
•  Curve FTG Treadmill – This tool allows patients to focus on improving and gaining motor skills and muscle power, as well as stabilizing and propelling weight forward.
•  Total Gym Encompass – Individual motor learning is enhanced during tailored resistance training with real-time feedback from wearable technology and training applications.
•  Therapeutic Power Training Equipment – Our velocity-based training equipment uses the same wearable technology and training applications used by elite athletes around the world. You won't find this in any other clinical setting.
•  Keeogo Exoskeleton – A versatile exoskeleton equipped to support walking that can be finely tuned to support early transfers and walking post-operatively, the Keeogo is uniquely used by Boys Town Physical Therapy to promote problem solving strategies during walking and overall motor skill.
